Hopeful NORTH RELIANCE shines in maiden win

Making her annual debut today at Cologne, Oaks-nominated NORTH RELIANCE broke her maiden in promising style. The Wittekindshof-bred Reliable Man filly out of the Gr.1-placed NORTH QUEEN proved too good for her rivals in the first contest on the card when she drew clear with plenty of gusto in the final phase of the 2,200 metres race. A clever ride by Sean Byrne gave the Marcel Weiß-trainee a ground-saving trip along the inside rails and an advantage of three quarter of a length at the post. NORTH RELIANCE races in the colours of Michael Wachowitz.
